FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sony Pictures Entertainment Names Ravi Ahuja Chairman, Global Television Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment Corporate Development

Former President of Disney Television to Lead Sony Pictures Television's Domestic And International Productions, Game Show Franchises and the Studio’s India Business

[Culver City, CA – March 8, 2021] Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) today announced that Ravi Ahuja has been named Chairman, Global Television Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment Corporate Development, leading Sony Pictures Television's Domestic and International Productions, the studio’s game show franchises and its India business. He will also oversee SPE’s Corporate Development and M&A activities along with SPE Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra. Ahuja, who most recently served as President of Walt Disney Television, will start on March 15, 2021 and report to Vinciquerra.

“Ravi is an extraordinarily talented and proven executive with broad experience in nearly every aspect of our business,” said Vinciquerra. “Having worked directly with Ravi, I have seen first-hand his strategic, results-driven approach which has made him such a strong leader, and which I know will lead to further growth and success for SPE. His decision to come to SPE is a testament to the studio’s strength and ability to attract great talent.”

“It was an easy call to join the amazing Sony Pictures management team and to work again with Tony,” said Ahuja. “With more ways to get more TV, great content has never been more valuable. Sony Pictures Television is a tremendous studio, making some of the most acclaimed and watched shows in the world, like The Good Doctor, Cobra Kai, The Boys and The Crown – just to name a few. And Sony Pictures is very well-positioned for the future, aligned with outstanding creators and focused on the success of its network and streaming partners. I look forward to contributing to the company’s continued growth in this exciting time for our industry.”

Ahuja’s arrival marks another transformative step for SPE. Over the last few years SPE has undergone a broad “reimagining” and restructuring of several of the studio’s businesses and operations. Those efforts have led to a dramatic turnaround of the studio’s overall performance and operating profit. Keith Le Goy, SPE’s President of Worldwide Distribution and Networks, has been among the key leaders in driving this transformation. His current role and oversight of SPE’s distribution and networks operations and Funimation remain unchanged. Le Goy will continue to report to Vinciquerra and work in partnership with Ahuja in television.

Sony Pictures Television currently produces a wide array of over 70 programs worldwide, and has been awarded the industry's top honors, including the recent Best Drama Series Golden Globe Award for The Crown. Programs currently in production at the studio include Better Call Saul, The Good Doctor, Cobra Kai, The Blacklist, For Life, S.W.A.T., The Goldbergs, Black Monday, Shark Tank, Outlander, The Boys, Woke, For All Mankind, Atypical, and the upcoming series The Wheel of Time, among many others. SPT also produces successful first-run syndicated programs such as longtime #1 and #2-rated game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!

Before stepping down from Disney in late 2020, Ahuja played a central role in merging Disney/ABC Television and Fox Networks following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019. Following the merger, he served as both President, Business Operations and CFO of Walt Disney Television, which included the ABC Network, ABC News, ABC Owned Stations, Disney Channel, Disney Television Studios, Freeform, FX, Hulu Originals and National Geographic. Prior to his time at Disney, he served as CFO of the Fox Networks Group (FNG), where he oversaw finance, strategy and business development for all of its business units: Twentieth Century Fox Television, Fox Broadcasting, Fox Cable Networks, Fox Sports, National Geographic and FNG Europe and Africa, Latin America and Asia.

At Fox, Ahuja formulated and executed on the company’s growth initiatives, including those in streaming and new technology. He helped to guide the company’s Hulu joint venture for over a decade and spearheaded investments in Roku, Draft Kings and many others. Additionally, Ahuja led the acquisitions of National Geographic Partners, Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network and Sports Time Ohio. Ahuja is currently on the Board of Directors of Roku, Inc.

Before joining Fox in 2007, Ahuja served as CFO for Virgin Entertainment Group, Inc. Prior to that, he worked at McKinsey & Company and in investment banking.
